Advice has been received from the Defence authorities, Dunedin, that 15/452a Private Archibald William Thomson, a returned discharged soldier, died at the Dunedin Hospital on October 11 from tuberculosis. Deceased was 23 years of age and his next-of-kin was his father (Mr. D. Thomson), Walton Street, Dunedin. -Dominion, 22/10/1918.

The Friends of DUNCAN and JANE THOMSON (and Family) are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral of their late SON, Private ARCHIBALD WILLIAM THOMSON, which will leave their Residence, City road, Roslyn, THIS DAY (WEDNESDAY), the 16th inst., at 2.15 o'clock, for the Anderson's Bay Cemetery.

The military funeral took place yesterday at the Anderson's Bay Cemetery of Archibald William Thomson, of City road, Roslyn, late private of the Second Reinforcements, N.Z.E.F. The Returned Soldiers' Association supplied the pall-bearers, and about 40 members attended the funeral. Captain Dobson and Captain Myers represented the Defence authorities. The Central Battery provided a firing party under Sergeant-major Boult, and Bugler Tyrie sounded the Last Post. -Otago Daily Times, 17/10/1918.
