COLLETT. - On March 13th, 1950, at Dunedin, Patrick, dearly beloved youngest son of Edward and Mary Collett, of 38 Maryhill terrace, Moraington; aged 14 years. R.I.P. — Requiem mass at St. Joseph’s Cathedral To-morrow (Friday), March 14th, at 9 a.m. — The Funeral will leave St. Joseph’s Cathedral To-morrow (Friday), at 10 a.m., for the Anderson's Bay Cemetery. — W. OBITUARY.
MASTER P. COLLETT.
The death occurred this week, at the residence of his father, Captain E. C. Collett, of Mornington, of Patrick Collett, at the age of 15 years. The deceased, who was a pupil of the Christian Brothers School, was a very promising scholar, having been dux of the primary department of the school last year. He was an all-round sportsman, having won distinction at football, cricket and swimming and having gained the medal for the best all-round sports work last year. The funeral took place yesterday. Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in the morning, the service being conducted by Bishop Whyte, assisted by Father McTavit, in the presence of a large congregation which included all the pupils of the Christian Brothers School, The funeral service was well attended and the cortege to the Anderson’s Bay cemetery was a long one. Many wreaths were received. At the Oval, the cortege was joined by a guard of honour from the Christian Brothers School cadets. The graveside service was conducted by Father McTavit. -Otago Daily Times, 15/3/1930.
