Haig Johnston was an aerial gunner on a 75 Squadron Lancaster bomber which was shot down by a night fighter while taking part on an attack on the Opel factory in the town of Russelheim. His plane crashed in Belgium. There were no survivors.
Haig Johnston was initially posted as "missing," then "missing presumed dead." His remaind were buried in the military cemetery at Hotten, Belgium.
