William Airey, 1836-5/10/1875. "after a lingering illness"

DEATH.

Airey. — On the 5th inst., at the Dunedin Hospital, after a lingering illness, William Airey; aged thirty-nine years.  -Evening Star, 5/10/1875.


FUNERAL NOTICE. 

THE Friends of the late Mr William Airey are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral, which will leave his late residence, the Hotel, George street, for the Northern Cemetery, To-morrow (Wednesday), the 6th inst., at 3 p.m.

During the week ending October 9th, 20 patients were admitted into the Dunedin Hospital and 22 were discharged. Five deaths occurred, viz. — Jeremiah Winder, miner, aged 48, native of Lancashire, from disease of the heart; William Airey, cab driver, aged 39, native of London, from disease of the spine; James Warren, carter, aged 53, native of Devonshire, from erysipelas of left leg; Ah Din, labourer, aged 35, native of China, from disease of the brain; Ellen Maclean, aged 18, native of Sydney, from tuberculosis. The number of patients at present in the Hospital is 172, of whom 40 are females.  -Otago Witness, 16/10/1875.
