SOLDIER KILLED NEAR DARFIELD
Angus Young MacAskill, a soldier, aged 20 years, was killed yesterday during military manoeuvres on the Hawkins road near Darfield. MacAskill was riding along the road and failed to negotiate a corner properly, and his bicycle ran into a cattle-stop. An inquest will be opened to-day. -Press, 23/7/1942.
