GOTHIC’S CHIEF STEWARD ILL
(New Zealand Press WELLINGTON, January 7.
The Shaw Savill Line announced today that Mr W. A. Ray, chief steward of the Royal yacht Gothic, became suddenly ill on Tuesday with a suspected cerebral haemorrhage. He has been flown to Dunedin for observation and treatment.
Mr Ray is 43 years of age, and has been with the Shaw Savill Line for many years. He has served in the Ceramic and a number of other ships on the New Zealand run, and is well known to many people in this country. -Press, 8/1/1954.
