DEATHS

CURTIS. — On June 2, 1947, at Dunedin, Elizabeth Agnes, beloved wife of James Albert Curtis, of 484 Castle street, and loved second daughter of Alexander S. and Elizabeth Ann Brown, of 120 Harbour Terrace; in her twenty-sixth year. “At rest.” — The Funeral will leave our Chapel, 78 St. Andrew street, on Tuesday, the 3rd inst., at 2 p.m. (Service 1.45), for the Anderson’s Bay Cemetery. —Hope and Kinaston, funeral directors.  -Evening Star, 2/6/1947.


ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS

INQUEST CONCLUDED. 

At the adjourned inquest yesterday afternoon into the death of Elizabeth Agnes Curtis, aged 25, a married woman, of 484 Castle street, the coroner (Mr J. D. Willis, S.M.) returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence, that death was caused by toxaemia, resulting from cirrhosis of the liver. The deceased was admitted to the Public Hospital on the evening of June 1 and died at 1.20 a.m. on the following day. 

Evidence was given by Drs K. S. Alstod and J. C. Parr, of the Hospital medical staff, Dr Monheimer, who had attended the deceased since September, 1945, for jaundice, colitis and anaemia, and Dr E. F. D’Ath, professor of pathology, who conducted a post mortem examination at the request of the coroner.   -Evening Star, 20/6/1947.
