A local resident, Peter James Rodgers, of Lynn street, who is employed as a guard by the Railways Department, disappeared from his home yesterday morning, and had not been located last night. Rodgers at the time of his disappearance was clad only in pyjamas. -Otago Daily Times, 5/7/1938.
No trace has yet been found of Peter James Rodgers, of Lynn street, who has been missing since Monday morning. Up to last night no trace had been found of Mr Peter James Rodgers, of Lynn street. Oamaru, who has been missing from his home since Monday morning. At the time of his disappearance it was thought that he was wearing only pyjamas, but it has been ascertained since that, when he left home, he was wearing grey trousers and an overcoat. -Otago Daily Times, 7/7/1938.
On Saturday, the police, assisted by officials of the Oamaru branch of the Railways Department, carried out dragging operations in the Oamaru harbour in a search for Mr P. J. Rodgers, who disappeared from his home on July 4, but this search proved unavailing. -Otago Daily Times, 18/7/1938.
