64399 Private Alfred William Wilson, (28/9/1889-26/9/1918). "the sad loss of her dear husband"

Alfred Wilson was wounded on August 30, 1918 and died at 8.45am on September 26 at the 1st Australian General Hospital at Rouen, France.  His wound was a gunshot wound to his right thigh or hip. The time between wounding and death would suggest an infection set in at some stage.  The loss of her husband must have told greatly on his wife, Mary.  She would have hoped for a life together after the war.  Instead, her memorial advertisements appeared annually until the 1940s.
