Hector Farquharson joined the Royal Air Force after 1940 and was trained at a Canadian flying school, graduating in July, 1942. From there he went to Britain, joining No. 6 (Pilot) Advanced Flying Unit at Little Rissingdon. He died while flying an Airspeed Oxford, a twin-engined advanced training aircraft. It is not known whether other crew were aboard when it crashed.
