416472 Sergeant Pilot Hector William Farquharson, (19/2/1923-6/111942). "aged 19"

 

Hector Farquharson joined the Royal Air Force after 1940 and was trained at a Canadian flying school, graduating in July, 1942.  From there he went to Britain, joining No. 6 (Pilot) Advanced Flying Unit at Little Rissingdon. He died while flying an Airspeed Oxford, a twin-engined advanced training aircraft. It is not known whether other crew were aboard when it crashed.

FARQUHARSON. — Sergeant-pilot Hector William, killed on active service, younger son of Mr and Mrs W. E. Farquharson, and loved brother of Alex, Sheila, and Thora: aged 19.  -Evening Star, 12/11/1942.
