We learn with very deep regret of the death of Miss Annie McBride, school teacher at Waitangi on Thursday morning. The sad intelligence was conveyed by a telegram from Mr John Butler on Thursday, but it did not say the cause, though heart disease is expected. The young lady, who has just attained the age of 20, was beloved and esteemed by all who knew her and her death will prove a great shock to her numerous friends and relations, both here and in South Westland. The deepest sympathy is felt for Mrs McBride, who has lost so heavily by bereavement during the last year or two. — WC Times. -Grey River Argus, 6/12/1897.
