George Jack, (1904-4/7/1921). "crushed between"

DENNISTON NOTES

A fatal accident occurred in the Iron Bridge Mine on Monday, July 4th, whereby a youth, 17 years of age, named George Jack met with a violent death, being crushed between a full box attached to the endless rope and some full boxes that were standing on the road. The deceased was employed as a clipper off, and how the accident occurred remains a mystery, as there was no one present at the time. The mines were idle on Wednesday for the funeral, and, although it rained heavily from early morning, a large number attended to pay their last tribute of respect to the unfortunate lad, who was well liked by all who knew him. The entire sympathy of all here is extended to the parents in their sad affliction.   -Grey River Argus, 13/7/1921.
