Another victim of the demon, Drink, is reported from Skippers, where one Peter Calanan, of the comparatively youthful age of 32 years, died on Monday last. Deceased, who has been known in the district for many years as a digger, packer, or other occupation by turns, was a native of Ireland, or of Irish parents. -Lake Wakatip Mail, 18/11/1881.
