The Westport Times says: — Miss Lena Martini, aged 18, who had been ill for the past eighteen months, suffering from consumption, died on Sunday morning. Deceased, who was a native of Kumara, had resided in Westport for some years, and was a general favorite, and her untimely death is the cause of much sorrow amongst a wide circle of friends. All that medical science and skillful nursing could do was exercised on her behalf, while she was cheerful to the last. -Greymouth Evening Star, 17/89/1902.
